Hon.william Kwasi Sabi is a former Deputy Minister and Member of Parliament for Dormaa East Constituency in the Bono Region of Ghana. Head of Technical Advisor on Monitoring and Evaluation at the Office of the President. A Health Economist, Health Insurance Management Consultant and Monitoring and Evaluation person. A member of the Association of African Health Economists. Holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health specializing in Health Economics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He also holds a Bsc.Degree in Administration(Management Option) from University of Ghana. Holds a post graduate certificate in Health Financing, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation. He has over 20 years of experience in Management at the regional and national levels. Has extensive knowledge and experience in Health Management. He has provided Consultancy services to W.H.O, DANIDA, PHR, USAID, Christian Blind Mission and other international organizations on management and administration, especially of health financing programmes. Was an administrator in the airline industry before joining the health services as a Hospital Administrator and later Deputy Director of Health Administration. He was a lecturer at the Catholic University of Ghana, teaching Operations Management, Principles of Management, Health Financing, Management Ethics, Healthy Living and Healthcare. Became the first Bono Regional Director of the National Health Insurance Authority and the first Operations Manager at the Head Office of the National Health Insurance Authority(NHIA) responsible for monitoring and evaluation and general operational issues. Was one of the brains behind the development of Strategic Plan of the NHIA. He also trained all insurance managers and the board of directors in Ghana to start the National Health Insurance Scheme(NHIS).
